Walk to Everything
Dead center of town

There is nowhere
else quite like it.

Marfa is a small West Texas ranch town that became one of the most quietly electrifying places in America — equal parts art world and cowboy country, with skies that don't quit. Walk to the Chinati Foundation, Donald Judd's landmark permanent installation. Drive out to Prada Marfa. Watch the famous Mystery Lights from the viewing area east of town — unexplained since the 1800s and still no good answer.

When you're ready to go further: Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park are within reach — canyon country, hot springs, the Rio Grande. Head north to the Davis Mountains and McDonald Observatory. The Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve — spanning over 15,000 square miles across Texas and Mexico — is the largest Dark Sky Certified place in the world. On a clear night at 308 S. Russell, you can see the Milky Way just by looking up.

This is the kind of place you tell people about and they don't quite believe you until they've been.
